Bitumen, also known as asphalt in the United States, is a substance that forms through the distillation of crude oil.
Bitumen emulsion is a mixture of fine droplets of bitumen and water. But it is sticky in nature, it doesn’t easily gets disintegrated into fine droplets. To overcome this problem an emulsifier is used.
A dark viscous residual fuel obtained by blending mainly heavier components from crude distillation unit, short residue and clarified from fluidized catalytic cracker unit.
